Week: Saturday 13th May - Friday 19th June 2026.

While there were no new species for the year, there were nonetheless still a few scarce species to see including Garganey, Little Ringed Plover, Roseate Tern, Quail, Spoonbill and Hobby.
There were the first signs of the return passage of waders, with the first Greenshank and Common Sandpiper for a few weeks.  Added to which, there was an unseasonal record of a Pale-bellied Brent Goose on the Inland Sea - the bird was noted to fly strongly and it remains unclear why it should be with us in the middle of June.
The cumulative year list remains at 199 (LISTS) - subject to the appropriate records being accepted by the British and Welsh Birds Rarity Committees as applicable.
