No new year ticks, but Waxwing sightings at Amlwch Port over 3 days was particularly pleasing.  3 Sandwich Terns at Penmon was notable.

·       2 amongst a feeding flock of gulls off Traeth Lligwy (14th).

Mediterranean Gull

·       1 at Beddmanarch Bay (18th).

Sandwich Tern

·       3 at Penmon (19th).

Black Guillemot

·       1 at Holyhead harbour (15th).

Divers & Grebes:

Black-throated Diver

·        1 off Benllech seafront (13th).

Great Northern Diver

·        2 at Holyhead Harbour (15th & 18th).

Red-throated Diver

·        1 at Silver Bay, Rhoscolyn (14th).

Black-necked Grebe

·        1 seen in the Menai Strait off Bangor Pier (19th) is likely to viewable from Gallows Point or the Gazelle.

Slavonian Grebe

·        1 off Benllech seafront (13th).

·        3 at the Inland Sea (15th).

Little Grebe

·        2 at Holyhead harbour (15th).

Great Crested Grebe

·        Up to 6 at Holyhead harbour (6 on 15th, 4 on 18th).

·       Up to 3 around former Octel playing field (3 on 17th, 1 on 18th & 19th).

Firecrest

·       1 at Bodffordd water treatment plant (13th).

Water Pipit

·       1 at Cors Ddyga (18th).

Blackcap

·       Female at the Dingle, Llangefni (19th).

Chiffchaff

·       1 at Bodffordd water treatment plant (13th).

Dipper

·       2 at the Dingle, Llangefni (19th).

Kingfisher

·       1 at Holyhead harbour (15th).

·       1 at Valley wetlands (17th).

Raptors:

Marsh Harrier

·        1 at the Alaw estuary (16th).

·        Several at Cors Ddyga (18th).

Red Kite

·        1 over the A55 near Pentre Berw (19th).

Merlin

·        1 at the Alaw estuary (16th).

·        1 at Silver Bay, Rhoscolyn (17th).
