Highlight of the week was the drake American Wigeon which was the 1st since in 1998 and of a rare variant found at a ratio of c. 1:500 among American flocks. Before the 1 day bird in 1998, you have to go back to the winters of 1979 and 77 when a returning drake was at Llyn Bodgylched, near Beaumaris.
