A Quail was heard calling at Cemaes Bay (3rd).  A subsequent check also surfaced a report of one heard calling at Cors Ddyga (22nd May), while other belated reports included 2 Black Terns seen off Cemlyn (7th June), a Hobby at Cors Ddyga (19th June) and 2 Mandarin - both female - at Cors Ddyga (19th June).  So, 4 new additions to the year list, which increases to 211 (LISTS)

Swans, Geese and Ducks:

Common Scoter

c10, flew past Cemlyn (29th).

Eurasian Wigeon

1, in eclipse plumage at Cors Ddyga (30th).

Eurasian Teal

5, at the Alaw estuary (30th).

Mandarin

2, ducks (belated report) at Cors Ddyga (19th June).

Red-breasted Merganser

8, 6 adults and 2 chicks at Traeth Dulas (1st).


Waders:

1, at Cors Ddyga (30th).

Roseate Tern

Up to 4, during the week at Cemlyn - but it is believed that up to 15 different birds have been at the site across the month of June (4 on 29th, 1 on 28th).

Little Tern

1, at Cemlyn (29th).

Black Tern

2, (belated report) flying past the green buoy off Cemlyn (29th).

Mediterranean Gull

Up to 85, at the Alaw estuary (85 on 30th, 64 on 4th, 29 on 1st).

Puffin

8, flew past Cemlyn (29th).

Black Guillemot

4, off Traeth Bychan (2nd).

c 120, at Traeth Bychan (28th-4th).

1, on fields at the entrance to The Range, Holyhead (28th, 3rd) - including the bird on the 3rd being seen to feed a hybrid chick.
