Two new additions to the year list with a female Mandarin Duck around RSPB Valley Wetlands and belated confirmation of breeding Long-eared Owl at a site in the NW of the island.  Cumulative year list to date increases to 208.

·       Female at Llyn Cerrig Bach (22nd) and Valley Wetlands RSPB reserve (22nd – 23rd).

Common Scoter

·       16 flew past Fedw Fawr (23rd).

Waders:

Green Sandpiper

·       1 on wet fields at Llanfachraeth end of the Alaw estuary (23rd & 26th).

Common Sandpiper

·       Up to 9 at Moel y Don (9 on 21st, several on 22nd).

·       1 at the Alaw estuary (23rd).

·       2 at Traeth Dulas (24th).

Sanderling

·       5 at Cemlyn (20th).

·       3 at Beddmanarch Bay (24th).

·       1 at the east end of the beach, Silver Bay, Rhoscolyn (25th).

·       14 at Moel y Don (22nd).

·       18 on rocks off the Trwyn, Cemlyn (23rd).

·       Up to 2 at Cemlyn (2 on 21st, 1 on 25th 7 26th).

·       Juvenile at Malltraeth (26th).

Mediterranean Gull

·       3 adults at Beddmanarch Bay (24th).

Puffin

·       2 on the sea at South Stack (24th).

Black Guillemot

·       3 off Benllech seafront (20th).

·       12 at Fedw Fawr (23rd).

Long-eared Owl

·       Juveniles heard calling at a site in the NW of the island throughout early June, with adult seen on the 12th June.

Osprey

·       1 at the Cefni estuary, viewed from the Malltraeth cob (25th).

Red Kite

·       1 at Presaddfed (24th).
